Piano/violin duet
Katarzyna Borek and Karolina Piątkowska have been performing together since they attended the same school of music in Gdańsk/Danzig. At the age of 17 they won the National Chamber Music Competition in Wrocław, Poland and the Chamber Music Competition in Gdańsk which resulted in receiving numerous concert invitations in Poland and abroad. The artists continue to perform together while pursuing independent solo careers. In the year 2010 they have proformed together in the most prestigious concert halls in China and Singapore - Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, Grand Theatre in Dalian and Hangzhou, the Symphony Stage of the Singapore Botanic Gardens and the National Museum of Singapore.
They have been invited to inaugurate the Chopin's 200-year birthday anniversary at the Polish Radio Gdańsk, performed also at the Festival of Polish Culture in Luxemburg, the Polish Embassy in Beijing and Dantuta Baduszkowa Musical Theatre in Gdynia - with the project "Chopin for piano, violin and visualisations" which has won the "Young New Talent 2009" Prize in Belgium.
